Julio Young, CPA, CGA

Empathy may not be the first idea that comes to mind to explain business acumen, but that’s precisely what Julio brings to the table. He can strike a rare balance between technical solutions, strategic vision, and personalized solutions for his clients.
Julio has over 30 years of experience in tax planning in all personal, corporate, and estate taxation areas, including advising on real estate tax issues and establishing resident and non-resident trusts and offshore corporations for professionals, owner-managers, and companies with cross-border transactions. He is fluent in Spanish and Cantonese.
He co-founded Fernandez Young LLP and FY International LLP until he decided to part ways with the company that still carries his name in 2020. The Covid-19 pandemic deeply impacted his personal and professional ambitions, so he created Engelmann Business Advisors. His conviction is that typical accounting services fail to address BC businesses’ needs effectively. Additionally, he advocates for more agile and lean organizations focused on value-price maximization.

David has amassed over 20+ years of accounting, tax, and finance experience in all sectors: public practice, industry, government bodies, as well as public companies. Some of the more well-known companies he has worked at include Red Bull, ICBC, KPMG, and Johnson & Johnson.
Over the years, he has become a specialist in going into organizations with little or no accounting departments and subsequently building strong organizational accounting foundations: Human Capital, processes, procedures, documentation, financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, standards of procedures, internal controls, banking, insurance, financing, KPI’s, as well as ERP system conversions.

Ann’s strength is managing people, both internally and externally. She’s been taking care of clients for over 25 years. When it comes to business strategy, Ann is an outspoken and fierce advocate of clients’ needs and interests.
It wouldn’t be too far from the truth to picture her as the clients’ asset within the Engelmann domains. Call it grounding, realism, or business acumen; she is the one putting the client on the center stage of Engelmann’s mission, vision, and operations.

Joseba is a marketing strategist with agency experience and a background in cultural anthropology and business management.
